Alien Secret Revealed In New Indiana Jones Crystal Skull Movie April 28 2008
COMMUNICATIONS NEWSFLASH! REAL LIFE INDIANA JONES RISKS DEATHIN SEARCH OF FINAL PROOF OF E.T. IN EQUADOR'S CAVES;DAREDEVIL EXPLORER UNEARTHS ALIEN SECRET OF 'CRYSTAL SKULL' MOVIE!Daredevil explorer Alex Chionetti, America's real life answer to the Indiana Jones character played by Harrison Ford in the upcoming film sequel, "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," literally risked death from poison darts aimed by former headhunters in search for the ultimate proof of extraterrestrials deep down in Ecuador's ancient Tayos caves.Chionetti, 48, an independent filmmaker based in Red Bank, New Jersey, is credited by official spokemen for both Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks and George Lucas Productions for his unique work in the fields of both archaelogy and UFOlogy. But now Chionetti has made perhaps the biggest discovery of them all--the extraterrestrial origin of the crystal skull that is the centerpiece of the new Indiana Jones movie expected to be this summer's number one blockbuster."If you examine the photograph of the crystal skull released by Paramount Pictures, you will notice that the abnormally large eye sockets are not human," said Chionetti. "They match the stereotypical 'bug eyes' of the extraterrestrial species known as alien grays." Chionetti probed deeper and learned that his on screen alter ego, Harrison Ford, apparently manages to gain entry in the film to an Air Force hangar in Roswell, New Mexico and in a scene reminiscent of "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" frantically searches among hundreds of wooden crates for extraterrestrials who crash landed in the desert in 1947, all the while battling KGB agents drawn to the site by remote viewers.Meanwhile, at least 12 actual crystal skulls believed by some to have been carved by the ancient Mayan civilization and possess special mystical powers are expected to undergo intense new scrutiny in the wake of the highly promoted "Indiana Jones" sequel. Chionetti has held the most famous crystal skull, the so-called Mitchell Hedges "skull of doom," in his hands and is convinced that is is not only genuine, but pre-dates the Mayan civilization."Steven Spielberg is to be congratulated for once again shining Hollywood's spotlight on the fascinating and crucial link between humans and extraterrestrials." said Chionetti, who was a disciple of the late Dr. J. Allen Hynek, the Northwestern University astronomer who coined the term "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" immortalized by Spielberg in his hit UFO movie. A member of the Explorers Club, Chionetti inherited the mantle of "real life Indiana Jones" from his friend and mentor, Gene Savoy, another independent American explorer who searched for lost pre-Columbian cities and battled official archaelogists who refused to accept the premise of advanced ancient civilizations. People magazine originally bestowed the Indiana Jones title on Savoy.Born in Argentina, Chionetti moved to the United States in the 1980s and has devoted nearly 30 years of his life searching for evidence of extraterrestrials in the Tayos caves of Ecuador, which he calls "The Mount Everest of Archaelogy." Former astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the moon, helped lead the largest expedition to the Tayos caves in 1976. During his most recent expedition to the Tayos caves, Chionetti uncovered physical evidence of an advanced ancient civilization that is believed to have inhabited 150 caves some 12,000 years ago and left behind perfectly formed doorways and arches that may have been part of a giant underground Hall of the Gods containing a lost library of the history of mankind before the Biblical Flood. Chionetti said that the caves also contain formations of gold tablets adorned with scripture and hundreds upon hundreds of blind Tayos birds who use radar the same as bats to fly in the dark.Chionetti is currently working on a major television documentary about the Tayos caves. His first expedition there in October failed to reach the main entrance to the caves, but his most recent trip to the caves last March was done with training from the Ecuadorian SWAT team known as GIR. Access to the caves is controlled by the deadly and highly territorial Shuars tribe, which apparently had a poison dart with Chionetti's name written on it. Fortunately Chionetti was able to escape and in the tradition of Indiana Jones now plans to return to the Tayos caves again and risk life and limb to learn what could well turn out to be the biggest secret in the history of mankind--a secret just as big as the one faced by Indiana Jones on the big screen in "The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull."

A Planetary Countdown: Dec 21, 2012; 11:11UTCA PUFOIN CommentaryBy John Jaeger
The local; regional and world news are all reporting on varying degrees of Earth and Climate changes. Are we in Global Warming? Are we on the dawn of a new ice age? Have we finally exceeded our welcome?
Many sources share the prophecies of the "end times". You can turn to the Bible's Book of the Apocalypse or Book of Revelations. You can read the contributions in the Book of Daniel. You can listen to the Mayan and Hopi elders. You can read the chapters of Nostradamus or the sleeping prophet Edgar Cayce. Each religion has it's own special book dedicated to the "end times". But, what exactly and when are the end times? Anyone with a solid answer, please step forward!
Whether listening to a televangelist or Al Gore, the picture that is painted is bleak at best. We're being told about the end of the world through Global Warming. We're being told that the wrath of God is upon us. It's actually quite exciting to actually wake up in the morning for two reasons. 1) Just because and 2) to read the latest headlines.
Global warming is happening. It is evidenced by the average temperatures. It isn't, however, the Al Gore solution. It isn't the damage that we've done to the planet - although I might suggest that we reconsider taking down all of those trees (natures filters). WE aren't the cause of Global Warming. Our impact has been negligible. Perhaps regionally one could argue that there has been an impact. Look at Los Angeles or cities in China. Certainly in regional areas there may be a greater localized impact due to pavement; emissions; and such. But overall, these aren't the reason that the world is seeing huge changes. There is just too much world to be impacted by local conditions. These changes are part of the regular cycle of this planet and solar system.
The Mayan calendar is the most notable (shall I even say notorious) object of interest pointing to an end. The problem lies in the translation or individual interpretation of the calendar. Many argue that it is off, based on the various starting and ending times of other calendars, etc., but if you go directly to the source - the Mayan's, you learn that "it is what it is". We put our own twist on it so we can sleep at night - but that doesn't change the fact that the Mayan calendar ends on December 21, 2012 at exactly 11:11 UTC. Putting all other things aside, the fact that it ends at 11:11 is simply remarkable! Wouldn't you agree? The degree of numerology associated with this event is in itself worthy of investigation.
So what's happening? What's going to happen? What is all of this stuff about in layman's terms? Answer in short? I don't know and neither does anyone else! To believe in any of this, one has to extend a level of faith. It's important to do your own homework because latching onto one researcher isn't always the best way to find answers. There are a lot of good researchers on the various topics but not one of them has all of the answers. You have to find what feels right for you!
What's happening? The solar system is experiencing a global warming. What could be causing this? Well, for one the Sun. But the Sun doesn't just decide to heat up the Solar System all on its own. If it were to act on its own, the Sun would be busy all of the time. No, it's something else. There is evidence to support that there is another body in this solar system acting on the sun and outer planets. This is evidenced by the orbits of the planets and their various wobbles. It is also evident by the changes in the Sun and the Sun activity. A lot of talk revolves around a Brown Dwarf or a large planet on an elliptical orbit that may have a rather large orbital cycle in the thousands of Earth years range. Sounds fantastic, doesn't it? Is it any more fantastic than the idea of our Moon being just the right size and distance so that it totally eclipses our sun? It isn't larger or smaller in comparison but "just right". We're not in Wonderland anymore Alice!
So, if this Brown Dwarf or large planet on a multi-thousand year orbit truly is the cause for the Global warming and the associated climate changes on this and other planets then this begs another question. Could the stories of the Ancient Sumerians and other early cultures be true?
Some reading this article may not be familiar with the Ancient Sumerian myths of powerful beings who came from the heavens to rule over the earth. These beings were said to come from Nibiru, often translated as the planet of the crossing. Now that's interesting... 'planet of the crossing'. We'll revisit this idea another time but let's get back to the Sumerian myths. These myths were written in clay and hardened into stone some 5000-7000 years ago. As far as we know, the Sumerian culture just appeared around 3500 BCE. With it came an economic system; a full language and technology. Obviously it didn't just "appear", did it?
The Sumerians talk about the Anunnaki. Anunnaki, loosely translates as "those from heaven to earth came". In other words, it's referring to their gods. We'd consider them Aliens I suppose. People who allegedly look like us to a varying degree of accuracy. There are those who speculate that they were reptilian in nature but there isn't enough evidence to support that. Just a few artifacts that resemble humanoid bi-pedal reptiles. Most of the depictions are of very tall humanlike beings with long beards. There are other artifacts that resemble the typical gray-like aliens. It is suggested that these beings were biologically designed android helpers or servants for the Anunnaki.
Now, when you put the various pieces together like a puzzle, a picture starts to form. Here is what we have so far:
Global Warming on a scale that just can't be blamed on us
Solar System wide activity and warming
Increased activity in the behavior of the Sun
A Mayan calendar with an approaching end date with associated prophecies of the end of time
Hopi legends and prophecies of the end times with the return of the great white Kachina (translated as life bringer)
Sumerian clay tablets discovered over the past century telling many stories of creation and Anunnaki
Nibiru or a Brown Dwarf often referred to as Planet X by the Para science community and referenced in the Sumerian tablets
All sorts of Revelations and stories of the Apocalypse at the end times talking about the return of a great warrior / savior
One must stop and consider... if taken at face value and all of these events are true - does that mean we're about to experience a great Armageddon, which will foster in the return of the Anunnaki thus restoring peace on this world? Okay, that's a real chopped down version of the various books and stories but still, let's stop to consider this very possible reality. What do we know from the various resources?
The Bible's Old Testament matches up closely with the Sumerian myths - too closely in many cases.
The Book of the Apocalypse (Revelations) talks about what will happen before the return of the Christ.
The Hopi legends and prophecies also talk about the world affairs prior to the return of their White Kachina.
Prophets such as Nostradamus and Edgar Cayce have spoken of future events with some apparent accuracy.
Our weather patterns and planetary activity are changing and becoming more frequent.
There are many other unusual events happening around the world including crop circles, which seem to hold secrets to the coming times. UFO's are on the increase and becoming more public. What are all of these things telling us? Why now instead of 100 years ago? What is significant about 2012?
The time frame from 1980 until 2016 is consider a window for the Galactic alignment. What is this alignment? Simply put, it is the alignment of the center of the sun (as seen from earth) with the center of the Galaxy. This type of event only happens once roughly every 25800-26000 years. The date of 2012 falls into this zone and specifically corresponds with the prophecies of the Mayan long count calendar. What's interesting is that the sun in December 2012 at the solstice will fall directly in the center of the widest part of the center of the Galaxy. Now, as far as I'm concerned, that's pretty amazing when you consider that modern science is only beginning to catch up with the Mayan mathematics.
We need to dive further into the various cultures and their mythos in order to understand their prophecies. The Mayan believe we are entering the 5th world. The Hopi believe we are entering their 4th world. What does this mean? It's all about transition of the spirit that drives us.
Our consciousness offers many dimensions. Consider a vertical dimension like an "up and down". Each dimension being higher or lower than the last depending upon the ascent or descent. We're also faced with horizontal dimensions. These are dimensions, which exist in the same time (as we measure it) but next to one another (often referred to parallel universes). We're going to focus on the vertical dimensions. Bear in mind that the use of vertical and horizontal are for comparison sake to help make the equation easier to understand.
Each "world" of the Maya and Hopi offer an opportunity for growth in spirit; consciousness and the self. Our souls have many lifetimes of experiences - often within the same dimension or "world". This isn't so much about 1st, 2nd or 3rd dimensions of space/time but rather dimensions of consciousness.
When we die, we don't cease to exist. We enter the realm of energy and consciousness. We find ourselves in a state of limbo, if you will. It's a time where we evaluate our learning without having the limitations associated with a corporeal form. Our memories of previous lives return and we are able to group our experiences to help us achieve the next higher state of our consciousness. There may be many lessons to learn. I liken it to elementary school (grades 1-8) where each grade level is similar to one life existence in this world. Just like there are those who skip grades or are left behind, we experience these as well. At some point, something "clicks on" within our consciousness and we suddenly recognize that we part of something so much bigger. We realize that the point to all of this is to learn and to grow spiritually.
Let's make sure we understand the term spiritually. I'm not referring to religion or any connection with religion. Religion is a tool and it is also a mask as well as bindings. Religion can also slow the enlightenment process because of its ritual and what I'll call brainwashing.
Spirituality refers to our oneness with the Universal Consciousness or Sea of Spirit. We are an extension of this Universal Consciousness. We not only live within its thoughts but within its being. Our existence is more virtual or holographic in nature. It's like a big cosmic computer program. It's only real because we're a manifestation within it. Our purpose is to answer the questions that the Universal Consciousness has. We're like little "probes" sent out to discover and learn. We're designed to continue learning until we reach a certain plateau within our development on this plane and move onto the next higher plane of existence. There, we start over. We don't lose the subconscious knowledge of the earlier planes of existence but we also don't fully tap into those experiences. We simply "instinctively" know and grow upon them. Consider it like High School (9-12) if you will. We don't remember the how's but we know that we learned and because we learned, we don't need to relearn. We just learn something new. This will go on for another cycle of lifetimes. Roughly 26,000 years as we relate them in our current plane of existence and time.
The vortex generated during the Galactic alignment opens a door way for our consciousness to ascend. Those who understand and have unlocked the door within their own consciousness (become enlightened) will transcend the planes into a new plane. It may still be in this physical 3rd dimension. It may simply be another of the Mayan or Hopi "worlds". To us, it may not seem any different but the spiritual transition will help us begin a completely new journey of enlightenment. We won't understand the purpose until we're nearing the end of our journey. Some special folks will tap into the consciousness sooner than others and they may become the Nostradamus or Edgar Cayce of that plane of existence.
More and more we're discovering ancient cities that demonstrate advanced technologies in design and can be dated further and further back. It's very obvious that advanced cultures have existed on this planet for much longer than we'll probably ever know. The cities of Atlantis and Lemuria are named in poems and legends but there is a lot of science to support the existence of these advanced cultures. A new science is dedicated to the study of devolution. But, is it really devolution or is it simply that those of renown have simply ascended and their cultures; societies and way of life have become a part of the past?
What of the Anunnaki; the Christ; the Kachina? How do these all relate to the end of the 26,000 cycle and the rebirth? The Bible speaks of a Rapture or calling up. Will it be the Anunnaki; Christ or Kachina who act as a guide into the new plane of existence?
Natural occurrences will certainly challenge us all in the coming years. We'll continue to be faced with destruction associated with earth changes. After all, it is the "end" of one world and the beginning of another. Purification and wiping the slate clean are all necessary if we're to continue growing in our spiritual evolution. Will all of this mean that we'll die a horrible death and our planet will cease to exist? Simply, no. Some will die and remain in a sea of consciousness until the transition. Others will be the light workers here to guide others along the path of enlightenment.
There is no reason to believe that there aren't other beings whose job it is to help us along this path. Could the lights being seen in the ski and the odd craft caught on film as well as the crop circles all be part of this equation? Our physical presence may have been manufactured by an advanced race but our consciousness is separate and unique. The body is simply the suit case we use to carry our spiritual belongings. Like us, other beings may be utilized in order to establish answers to the unanswerable questions the Universal Conscious seeks to satisfy. Like us, those beings may have benevolent or malevolent intentions. They are under the same restrictions we face in this physical dimension. Tapping into the understanding and learning of our path of enlightenment offers us greater ways to explore ourselves; others and our environment.

"Bionic" Contact Lens May Create Tiny Personal Displays
Joab Jacksonfor National Geographic News
January 29, 2008
A new contact lens embedded with electronic circuits could be the seed for "bionic eyes" that can see displays overlaid on a person's field of view, researchers say.
The minute circuitry could aid the vision-impaired or could be used to create tiny but discernible readouts offering data such as driving directions or on-the-go Web surfing.
Researchers at the University of Washington created the flexible, biologically safe lens—the first of its kind—using nano-scale manufacturing techniques.
The results were presented January 17 at a meeting of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in Tucson, Arizona.
"If it works, it would be fabulous," said Blair MacIntyre, who heads the Georgia Institute of Technology's Augmented Environments Lab.
MacIntyre, who was not involved in the new research, works on so-called augmented reality—techniques to overlay visual data using external devices such as headsets.
(Watch a video about research into augmented reality.)
But a contact lens, he said, could eliminate the need for these bulkier viewing techniques.
Self Assembly
Until recently, display circuitry couldn't be made small and light enough to be placed on a contact lens without a noticeable increase in the lens's weight.
"The nice thing about nanotechnology is that we can make all these parts really tiny," said project leader Babak Parviz, an assistant professor of electrical engineering at the University of Washington.
The first challenge was designing the surface of the lens so the electronics didn't block regular vision.
The trick, Parviz said, was to place most of the minute components in the areas over the eye's natural blind spots.
Perhaps the more pressing problem was how to attach the electronic components—each thinner than a human hair—to the delicate polymer of a contact lens.
Direct placement would probably damage the lens and be too time consuming.
Instead the team built separate, nano-size metal components and mixed them together so that they appeared like a fine powder.
This powder was then placed in a vial of fluid and poured over a pitted lens surface.
Each pit corresponded to a particular component, so as the mixture washed over the lens, the components found their positions.
A molecular adhesive force known as capillary action—the same property that allows plants to "suck up" water—locked the pieces into place.
The lenses were then put into the eyes of lab rabbits, which showed no signs of adverse effects after at least 20 minutes of wear.
Future Vision ,maz
Parviz's team has not yet activated the lens' circuitry; the goal of the new research was to show how such a device could be built and safely worn.
He admits that more research needs to be done in terms of understanding how the human eye would focus on the information.
"It will be difficult to see an image that will be formulated directly on the lens, so we will have to manipulate light so that it appears that the image is further away," he said.
If commercialized, the first generation of lenses would likely have low-resolution displays that probably could not convey much information.
But as the technology improves, the possibilities would be seemingly unlimited, the researchers said.
Drivers could read directions without taking their eyes from the road. Mechanics could get diagrams overlaid onto their equipment as they work. And virtual gamers could use the real world as a backdrop for their adventures.
(Related news: "Mobile Games Superimpose Virtual Fun on the Real World" [October 16, 2006].)
At Georgia Tech, MacIntyre's lab recently assembled a prototype virtual tour of the historic Oakland Cemetery in Atlanta.
As visitors move about the grounds, they hear voice actors tell the stories of cemetery residents through a special headset and handheld controller.
Replacing such devices with enhanced contact lenses would be easy, MacIntyre said, and the public would readily adopt such lenses if they were useful and unobtrusive.
After all, he noted, people are already becoming acclimatized to a variety of mechanical enhancements.
"I never would have imagined five years ago," he said, "that so many people would be wearing those little Bluetooth headsets."

The Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, the Jesuit director of the Vatican Observatory, was quoted as saying the vastness of the universe means it is possible there could be other forms of life outside Earth, even intelligent ones."How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?" Funes said. "Just as we consider earthly creatures as 'a brother,' and 'sister,' why should we not talk about an 'extraterrestrial brother'? It would still be part of creation."In the interview by the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano, Funes said that such a notion "doesn't contradict our faith" because aliens would still be God's creatures. Ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom, he said. The interview, headlined "The extraterrestrial is my brother," covered a variety of topics including the relationship between the Roman Catholic Church and science, and the theological implications of the existence of alien life.Funes said science, especially astronomy, does not contradict religion, touching on a theme of Pope Benedict XVI, who has made exploring the relationship between faith and reason a key aspect of his papacy. The Bible "is not a science book," Funes said, adding that he believes the Big Bang theory is the most "reasonable" explanation for the creation of the universe. The theory says the universe began billions of years ago in the explosion of a single, super-dense point that contained all matter. But he said he continues to believe that "God is the creator of the universe and that we are not the result of chance."Funes urged the church and the scientific community to leave behind divisions caused by Galileo's persecution 400 years ago, saying the incident has "caused wounds."In 1633 the astronomer was tried as a heretic and forced to recant his theory that the Earth revolved around the sun. Church teaching at the time placed Earth at the center of the universe."The church has somehow recognized its mistakes," he said. "Maybe it could have done it better, but now it's time to heal those wounds and this can be done through calm dialogue and collaboration."Pope John Paul II declared in 1992 that the ruling against Galileo was an error resulting from "tragic mutual incomprehension."The Vatican Observatory has been at the forefront of efforts to bridge the gap between religion and science. Its scientist-clerics have generated top-notch research and its meteorite collection is considered one of the world's best. The observatory, founded by Pope Leo XIII in 1891, is based in Castel Gandolfo, a lakeside town in the hills outside Rome where the pope has a summer residence. It also conducts research at an observatory at the University of Arizona, in Tucson.

WorldWide Telescope
Website: http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/
By STEVE LOHR
Published: May 13, 2008
The skies may be the next frontier in travel, yet not even the wealthiest space tourist can zoom out to, say, the Crab Nebula, the Trapezium Cluster or Eta Carinae, a star 100 times more massive than the Sun and 7,500 light-years away.
But those galactic destinations and thousands of others can now be toured and explored at the controls of a computer mouse, with the constellations, stars and space dust displayed in vivid detail and animated imagery across the screen. The project, the WorldWide Telescope, is the culmination of years of work by researchers at Microsoft, and the Web site and free downloadable software are available starting on Tuesday, at http://www.worldwidetelescope.org/.
There are many online astronomy sites, but astronomers say the Microsoft entry sets a new standard in three-dimensional representation of vast amounts data plucked from space telescopes, the ease of navigation, the visual experience and features like guided tours narrated by experts.
“Exploring the virtual universe is incredibly smooth and seamless like a top-of-the-line computer game, but also the science is correct,” said Alexander Szalay, a professor of astronomy and physics at Johns Hopkins. “No sacrifices have been made. It just feels as if you are in it.”
The WorldWide Telescope project spans astronomy, education and computing. Educators hope its rich images, animation and design for self-navigation will help entice computer-gaming young people into astronomy and science in general. The space service, astronomers say, could also become valuable in scientific discovery, especially with a professional version being developed with the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.
Like many fields of science, astronomy has become digitized and data rich in recent years, making it an ideal proving ground for advanced computing techniques in data mining, visualization and searching.
So it is scarcely surprising that the other major company with an ambitious astronomy service online is Google. The Internet search giant first layered astronomical data and images onto Google Earth last August.
The switch to astronomy in Google Sky amounts to looking out into space instead of down on Earth. Two months ago, Google introduced a Web-based version of Google Sky, layering space images on its searchable map service.
Microsoft and Google are spirited competitors and antagonists in the rough-and-tumble commercial markets of Internet search and software. Yet in online astronomy, both sides proclaim mutual respect and say their sole rivalry is in scientific discovery and public education. They say they have no plans to sell advertising on the astronomy sites.
Scientists and educators applaud the interest and investment by the two.
“It’s really encouraging that both Microsoft and Google are there, pushing these powerful tools for science education forward,” said Daniel Atkins, director of the National Science Foundation’s Office of Cyberinfrastructure, which focuses on using new technology in learning and research.
There may be no space war between Microsoft and Google, but their offerings reflect their different cultures. The WorldWide Telescope results from careful planning and lengthy development in a research division. It has the richer graphics and it created special software to present the images of spherical space objects with less polar distortion. WorldWide Telescope requires downloading a hefty piece of software, and it runs only on Microsoft Windows.
Google Sky started as a Google “20 percent” project, in which engineers can spend time on anything they choose. Google Earth, where Google Sky began, requires a software download, but its Web-based version, which came out in March, does not. The Google culture encourages engineers to put new things onto the Internet quickly and keep improving them, a philosophy geared to constant evolution instead of finished products.
Despite differences, the companies share motivations. Lior Ron, Google Sky product manager, said the astronomy focus “says a lot about the interests of the people in both companies.” At Google, Mr. Ron, 31, is one of a group of astronomy enthusiasts. He built his own telescope as a teenager and went to astronomy camps in his native Israel. He said he almost joined private space industry last year instead of Google.
A personal fascination in astronomy has also energized work at Microsoft. Jonathan Fay, 42, the lead software engineer on the project, has built an observatory, with a dome eight feet in diameter, in his backyard in suburban Seattle.
The inspiration for the WorldWide Telescope, and much of the early work, came from Jim Gray, a renowned computer scientist who disappeared last year while sailing alone off northern California. Mr. Gray had long been intrigued by the computing challenges of presenting map and satellite images online. His project to show aerial map images of the world, TerraServer, went up in June 1998, a few months before Google was founded. Mr. Gray then worked for years with astronomers on the concept he presented in Science in September 2001, “The World-wide Telescope.” Mr. Szalay was co-author.
Mr. Gray’s vision was largely about making the flood of astronomical data accessible and usable for scientists. The project began to take on its current look and design in fall 2006, when Curtis Wong started working on it full time. Mr. Wong, another amateur astronomer, heads a new media research group at Microsoft, which he joined in 1998. He is the creator of award-winning multimedia CD-ROMs on subjects like the Barnes art collection, Leonardo da Vinci and the making of the atomic bomb.
When he came to the astronomy project, Mr. Wong recalled telling Mr. Gray, “This is great, but let’s bring all this data and make it available, accessible and engaging to the public.”
A conversation with Mr. Wong, 54, is different from most around the Microsoft campus in Redmond, Wash., which is mainly populated by engineers, marketers and business managers. Mr. Wong speaks of the WorldWide Telescope’s allowing citizen explorers to make and post virtual tours. One tour on the site is by a 6-year-old boy from Toronto. “What we’re starting with is just a foundation,” Mr. Wong said. “When it really gets interesting is when more and more stories populate the WorldWide Telescope.”
Young people today are used to sharing stories, on MySpace, Facebook, YouTube and elsewhere. Educators hope that the WorldWide Telescope can entice them to take an interest in astronomy. “Science has a bad rap because it is seen as a dry accumulation of facts,” said Roy R. Gould, a science education expert at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. “But this is a visually beautiful environment where you can explore, create and share.”

The Flying Object Unidentified in Chicago
SUBMITTED BY: StAlgastna
On the CBS News website here in Chicago, there are a set of live webcams located here & there around my area. I check them now & then to see the weather 30 miles away before it gets to me. One day, I saw this pic. Note the flying object... Can you identify it?
Yes... It might be a bird, but...
1. The only bird it really could be is a seagull. Seagulls are white and possess a distinctive boomerang-like wing shape that would probably be identifiable even at this poor resolution.
2. A Slight chance of it being a hawk. They must flock to Chicago one at a time in the spring to stalk the rare & exotic Chicago roof Lemurs.
3. Pigeon? That high? That big? Banking at that angle?... Besides, the bank is on the other side of town.

Visitor Submitted UFO Video
Alex Gibb, 34, had been sitting in his home on Saughtree Avenue when he spotted the four strange lights at around 9pm.
He doesn't believe in UFO's and so he went outside to investigate and took some shocking footage which can be seen below.
Alison Kelly was in Adams Road in Saltcoats at the same time when she saw the unusual sight and she and her family were gobsmacked at the sight.
"It was short as my wife was using her mobile to video it. During the filming, a few kids and neighbours were out talking, and a car stopped too, so we were more concerned with watching it real time rather than through a video screen. That was as close as we could get anyway."

UFO Experts - Dennis Balthaser's latest editorial: Searching for the Truth
Much has been written about the Roswell Incident of July, 1947 over the past 60 years, and while some researchers have written it off as a crashed balloon with crash test dummies, some of us continue to look for other explanations of what really happened, not believing the four excuses given by the military during those 60 years. New witnesses and information continues to be found about the Incident and that appears to be worth investigating, to determine what actually happened.
A small sampling of last month’s visitors. Most notably, as always, is the steady military and government agency traffic!

Famous UFO Sightings – Stephenville Texas 01/08/2008 – Beam of Light Footage
Dozens of the town's residents — including a pilot and a police officer — said a UFO hovered over the farming community for about five minutes last Tuesday before streaking away into the night sky.
Pilot Steve Allen saw the object when he was out clearing brush off a hilltop near the town of Silden. Allen described the unidentified object as being an enormous aircraft with flashing strobe lights — and it was totally silent.
He said the UFO sped away at more than 3,000 mph, followed by two fighter jets that were hopelessly outmaneuvered. Allen said it took the aircraft just a few seconds to cross a section of sky that it takes him 20 minutes to fly in his Cessna.
The veteran pilot said the UFO, an estimated half-mile wide and a mile long, was "bigger than a Wal-Mart."
This footage was shot with a night vision camera by Margie Galvez in Brownwood, Texas, just outside Stephenville, Texas. It was featured on History's UFO Hunters. The beam of light was also reported by another witness, which gives it even more credibility.

"It started in World War 2, when the government didn't want people to know about UFO reports in case they panicked," said Cooper. "They would have been fearful it was superior enemy technology that we had no defense against. Then it got worse in the Cold War for the same reason. So they told one untruth, they had to tell another to cover that one, then another, then another . . . it just snowballed. And right now I'm convinced a lot of very embarrassed government officials are sitting there in Washington trying to figure a way to bring the truth out. They know it's got to come out one day, and I'm sure it will. America has a right to know!"
- Astronaut Colonel L. Gordon Cooper Omni, Vol. 2, No. 6, March 1980.
The End of the World?A PUFOIN CommentaryBy John Jaeger
What's really happening in the world today? The daily headlines are filled with "Alerts" of terrible natural disasters and paranormal experiences such as crop circles and UFO sightings. In the past few weeks alone there have been Volcano eruptions; Earthquakes; Cyclones and Tidal Waves; Tornado's and flooding! The head lines can't keep up with the rampant natural disasters around the world:
China: Quake left 18,000 buried in one city
Hundreds flee Florida wildfires
U.N. estimates death toll from Cyclone Nargis between 63,000 and 100,000
Kilauea Volcano Erupts Explosively And Vents Noxious Gas
Illinois Earthquake Is A Wake-Up Call
Volcano erupts in Chile
Now, consider the paranormal headlines:
Cleveland Crop Circles
Borromean Rings depicted in crop circle at Alton Barnes Wiltshire
Avebury Stone Avenue, Avebury, Wiltshire
Several See 2 Unknown Aerial Objects Zip Away and Disappear
ULOs - Research of Possible Structures on the Moon
More crop circles appear in East Tennessee
Apparent humanoid figure and other artifacts found on Mars
A re-disclosure from the Vatican that it is "OK" to believe in Extra Terrestrials
Even the most structured around us would have to admit that these are very interesting times! "It's the end of the world as we know it... it's the end of the world as we know it... it's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine... I feel fine"³.
To truly understand what is coming, we need to explore our past. I mentioned this before in another article. If you subscribe to the same line of thinking as I do, you'll recognize that what is happening now has happened before - many, many times over. Our past holds the key to our future and our survival as a modern day species.
The Sumerian tablets, engraved roughly 5500 years ago tell us about Creation; Eden; God(s) and pretty much any other religious myth you can think of. Just because these were engraved around 3500 BCE doesn't mean that the events happened then. They may have, but they may also have been much earlier.
What if we are visited by another 'parent' race that lives on a planet within this Solar System? What if there really is a Nibiru and Anunnaki? What if we really were "created" by Intelligent Design by these advanced humanoids? What if our great Egyptian kings were offspring of these Anunnaki? What if?
We can't know for sure. However, we do know that everything written of within the tablets is a modern possibility! Now if you consider that we've gone through many, many cycles on this planet of re-births (perhaps the Mayan and Hopi worlds?) then we start to see a pattern and we start to understand how this pattern relates to our own world experience. The "end" is subjective in many cases. It's based on the view point of the observer.

More on the Mysterious "Pearl" that Crashed Last Weekend
Last week, Linda Moulton Howe reported on Dreamland that a strange object that a witness described as silvery and appearing like a pearl about three feet in diameter fell into a schoolyard at 11:30 at night in Decatur, Alabama. He saw the object taken away in an ambulance. Linda Moulton Howe has been researching this, after a Dreamland listener drew her attention to an Unknowncountry.com story from May of 2005, and has made some fascinating discoveries.
Back in 2005, similar pearls appeared in Google maps of Florida and southern California. Googlesightseeing.com posted an update on the “pearls” and thanks to some amateur investigators, ruled out the possibility that the pearls were space debris, satellites, water towers, or effects designed to obscure celebrity homes. Though they are no longer visible on any known Google maps, no one has been able to explain their occurrence.
Until the witness report, it was assumed that they must be condensation on the glass aperture of the housing that held the camera. (Google's detailed map imagery is not made from satellites, but from a survey camera on a plane flying at 17,500 feet.)
However, the combination of the witness testimony on last week's Dreamland and the fact that the objects appear in grid patterns would seem to make it unlikely that drops of condensation are the explanation.
In fact, given the presence of things like these objects, the drones, and now a witness who described a team of very ordinary human beings using commonplace vehicles picking up one of the pearls that had crashed, it seems almost certain that some sort of large-scale operation is under way over the United States that utilizes devices with a remarkable and unknown means of propulsion, and is being used for unknown reasons.

What Happened In Piedmont
************************************
From an interview with David Jacobs On "The Threat"By UFO Journalist Sean Casteel
Temple University professor David Jacobs, Ph.D., the author of the highly regarded books The UFO Controversy In America and Secret Life, has spent more than 30 years researching UFOs and alien abduction. But it was only recently that he came to feel he had solved the mystery to his own satisfaction. The solutions he arrived at are the subject of his third book, The Threat: What The Aliens Really Want And How They Plan To Get It (Simon and Schuster, 1998).
Finding what he believes to be the answers was not a happy event for Jacobs. He told us recently that he now approaches the subject with an attitude of dread and deep concern about the future of humanity and the planet we call home.
Casteel: What do the aliens really want?
Jacobs: Well, you know, the ultimate question I think to ask for the UFO phenomenon is "Just what the hell do you think they're here for?" That's the question that I've tried to address in this book--what is this all about? What is happening here? Why is this happening? Why are people saying that these events are happening? So what I've done then is try to answer those questions as best I can by using as much information as I can from eleven years of fairly intensive research into abductions.
And what I've been able to find is that this is a program. They're not here just because they're examining people, or studying people, or experimenting on people. I don't know, Sean, if you remember I gave a talk about that in Los Angeles when I saw you. So they're not here to sort of "examine" us in some way. They're here on a mission. They're here with a goal in mind. They've got a program, and it's a program with a beginning, a middle and an end. It's a program that is goal-directed and I think we're entering into sort of the end-phase of this program. I think that we're moving towards the end of this.
And the program ultimately is not abducting people. Abductions, you have to remember, are a means to an end. They're abducting people for a purpose, for a reason. The physical act of abducting people, which is the abduction phenomenon, really is only part of the program. So what I've done is kind of divided it into component parts and fleshed it out a lot more. So what we have here is an abduction program, a breeding program, which accounts for all the reproductive activity that we see, and a hybridization program, which is why people see hybrids all the time--as babies, as toddlers, as adolescents, and then as adults.
And then, finally, I think all this is leading to an integration program in which ultimately these hybrids, who look very human, will be integrating into this society. And who will eventually, I assume, be in control here because they do have superior technology and superior physiological abilities that we do not have. We would therefore be sort of second-class citizens, I think.
Now, I find this to be very disturbing. And the interesting thing is that I don't really see other scenarios. I know that people feel it's positive and it's wonderful, and all the rest of that. And they're here to help us. But in the cases that I've investigated, very carefully, very thoroughly, for a very long time, I have not had people discuss that. When people discuss the future, generally speaking, they are discussing this integration program that they're confronting, and we're all confronting. I've been involved with UFO research for about 32 years now, since about 1965, and I have never been downcast or depressed about the phenomenon. I have never been pessimistic about it. I've always been filled with wonder and awe and amazement at it. I've been enthusiastic and optimistic about it.
But I must say that now that I've learned as much as I have learned, and I think I've learned an awful lot, I am very, very unsettled and upset by what I see. I don't like what I see. I wish I didn't see this. I wish I hadn't uncovered this. I despair of it. It's thrown me into a tremendous sense of concern about the future and unease. I just don't like it very much. I wish I did. I don't want to be this way. I don't want to be the bearer of bad news. I could not have ever imagined that I would come to this position. What I'm seeing now, what I've found with the phenomenon, I could never have imagined.
Now, though, I am persuaded by the evidence. I think that we are looking at a very serious business happening in front of us. As you know, the UFO and abduction phenomena is very, very widespread. And people have seen tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of UFOs around the world for a long time now, at least through the 20th Century, and certainly since 1947, and before that as well. It means that the amount of time and energy put into this program is really quite enormous. This means that it has a tremendous amount of importance to these beings.
And there's another aspect to it also that is disconcerting. It's a secret phenomenon. They don't want us to know what they're doing. They don't want us to interfere. This is a consciously-arrived-at and successful secrecy program to prevent us from knowing. Gosh, that makes me very uneasy, Sean.
So anyway, I've become depressed about the whole thing.
Casteel: So the reason for all this negative feeling and depression is because you feel that you and I and people who are natural human beings will somehow be subject to a higher form of oppression?
Jacobs: Of authority, right. I do think that something like that is going to happen. The way I look at is, I have one scenario which I like. All the rest of them I don't like. The one scenario which I do like is that one day, they will come to the abductees and say, "Our program is done now. We have accomplished our goal. We've taken what we need. Thank you so much for your help. Thank you so much for your cooperation. We'll be leaving now. You'll never know we were even there. People will wonder forever whether they were abducted or not. Now, goodbye and good night." That's my favorite scenario. I love that scenario. But in fact, we never hear that. We always hear a scenario about the future in which these beings say they're going to be here with us.
And everything is going to be wonderful. Everything is going to be great. It's going to be just delightful. We're going to like it, they're going to like it, everybody's going to like it. That's the future according to them, but when I take a look at their society, and when I take a look at a future in which they would be in control because of their superior technology and physiological abilities, I see a very, very different society than the kind that we live in now--a society that's far more restricted and far more controlled. The whole concept of individual freedom in this kind of society would be under serious question. I don't like that. I don't want it. I would rather have human beings make their own mistakes and fix their own problems and do things by themselves. I think we're perfectly capable of doing it. I think we can all live together into a happy future. I think that's within the realm of possibility.
Casteel: So they paint a Utopian picture of what's going to happen?
Jacobs: Well, they paint a picture of what they consider to be good for themselves. And they live in a controlled society. They live in a society where everybody knows his or her job. They live in a society where everything is controlled. The ability for people to act independently is very, very circumscribed in this kind of society that they live in. I just don't like it. I'm filled with apprehension over this. Now the key thing here is they are here for a reason. They are not studying or experimenting on us, and they're keeping their activities secret from us so we won't find out.
Casteel: That's what you were saying at the lecture, that they were way beyond the experimental stage.
Jacobs: Right. In fact, that was the title of the lecture "Is this an experiment or a program?" You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see what's going on. This doesn't look like an experiment to me, you know. It's been worldwide with millions of people for 50 years. Day in, day out, 24 hours a day. What kind of an experiment is that? And there are a lot of other reasons why it's not an experiment.
So it's disconcerting. And I never used to think this until I began to put it together--until I began to come to these conclusions and realize I think this is what it is. I think that in the book, basically, I've advanced hypotheses which might very well essentially be what this UFO phenomenon is all about. This is not the final aspect of studying this phenomenon, but I do think that I've fleshed out what the goals and purposes are. We're not exactly sure of all the "whys." Why they would want to do it in the first place? What's the point? We don't really know that. But I think this is certainly a hypothetical answer to the UFO puzzle. I think pretty much we've answered it.
That's what we're looking at. And therefore I think we're looking at a very difficult future.
Casteel: So the "how-they-plan-to-get-it" part would be through the breeding and hybridization programs?
Jacobs: Yeah, but how it's going to be played out, I don't really know. There's a lot of different scenarios. There's the Disaster Scenario that abductees keep talking about over and over again. We've had this for years and years. I don't quite know how that's going to happen. Whether there's going to be a disaster or not. There's a scenario where they just sort of naturally and nicely integrate into this society and we never even know it's happening. I guess there's things in the middle. We don't really know how what the aliens and abductees call "The Change," is going to take place. We don't really know that quite yet.
Casteel: But they're given visions like the world on fire or natural disasters, that kind of thing?
Jacobs: Yeah, well, it's all sorts of disaster scenarios, which includes atomic war. It includes asteroids hitting the earth. It includes floods, plagues, famine, whatever. It's sort of a generalized disaster and you just fill in the blanks as to what kind of disaster it will be. It's really non-specific, although people report more atomic war or the earth cracking in half or being destroyed by a comet or something like that more than other things, I guess.
I don't think the specifics are all that important, but the idea of a disaster is the most important thing. But I don't know whether that's true or not. We really don't know that yet because it might be a very different scenario. But I'm certainly going to stick by my guns and say that this is an integration program. However it's worked out, they will be integrating into this society and that's what this is leading to.
As I say about all my books, there's no possibility, Sean, that I have avoided error. I'm going to be wrong somewhere, somehow, in God knows how many things. But I think that this hypothesis that I'm presenting here is supportable by the evidence. And that's what makes it more disturbing. Everything I've written in this book is evidence-driven. That's why it's such a difficult book to deal with.
Casteel: Well, it's like "Invasion of the Body Snatchers," where you end up mouthing the words, "It's better this way. We have no pain now."
Jacobs: You are exactly right. I've thought about that, too. And of course one of the things I've been criticized for is because it has such a science-fiction quality to it. And then people say, "Therefore it is science-fiction." People have picked it up in the culture and that's why I'm hearing this. What they do is they make the mistake by finding similarities and saying that the similarities are in fact equalities. Which, of course, they are not. The fact is though is that it does have what they call "Programmatic Content." It does have content whereby we can see the inner workings of what they're doing and what's happening. And there are parallels in science-fiction, and certainly one of them is "Invasion of the Body Snatchers." That is in fact one of the parallels we see. But there's a lot of other parallels in science-fiction also. And if you look hard enough, you're going to be able to find a bit and a piece of it here and there and everywhere. But I don't think that this is science-fiction.
You've got to remember that most abductees are really not much into science-fiction. Most people I work with say they don't follow science-fiction. They haven't seen those movies. They don't know about that kind of stuff. It's not something where it just pervades the society. As people try to tell me, "Well, it's just sort of everywhere." Well, it isn't exactly like that. You've got to remember that the abduction phenomenon, while similar to science-fiction here and there, is really very different in almost all of its areas. It really is a different kind of situation, as you know.
And of course you have situations where people see other people being abducted and people are physically missing from their normal environment. There's a strong physical component to it that's very tough to explain.
Casteel: One thing I thought was interesting was the way you went over the varying degrees of hybrids. Varying percentages of human versus alien combinations.
Jacobs: Yeah, I tried to put forward a new concept of hybridization. One that makes more sense and one that's more in line with the evidence as it's presented by the abductees.
Casteel: Like subtle degrees between the various kinds?
Jacobs: Right. And you know, it does make sense that way. It answers a lot of things. It makes sense primarily because abductees have been saying this. So I was able to divide it into sort of like late stage, middle stage, and early stage hybrids. But one of the interesting things about this phenomenon, Sean, is that you know I talked about toddlers and what kind of toys they played with and young children and what they play with. And I even had some sort of "widget" that the adolescents tinkered with. Remember? There was that one sequence where he had a box and he had to press certain things and if he pressed them the right way there was a flash. Remember that?
Casteel: Yeah, like an alien Nintendo or something?
Jacobs: Right. But in terms of toys, we basically know quite a lot about alien toys, about kids' toys, and all that. And the hybrids and what they do. I spent a lot of time on hybrid children. If this were psychological, I couldn't do that. We wouldn't be able to describe certain toys that they used that other people have described as well. We're learning so much about this phenomenon, it's just extraordinary. And yet everything we learn points in the direction of the integration program.
Remember I talked about this one woman who was involved in this sort of learning situation in which she was standing in front of a class of hybrids. And a picture of a dog came down.
Casteel: Right, and she was supposed to explain all the earthly things.
Jacobs: And she was asked "What's a dog for?" And she said, "Well, you know, it's a companion" and all that. But see, that points to integration into the society. Everything points to it. This concern, this interest in earth things. I don't think it's just sort of "interest." I think they're interested in it for a reason. The interesting thing here is they're not saying, "How do you elect a president?" "What do you do Saturday night?" and things like that. They're not interested in politics, economics, culture, society. That they're not concerned with. And we almost never, never get questions about that. But if this were psychological, we would be getting questions like that. But they're interested in physiology, they're interested in anatomy, they're interested in the natural world, the environment, animals, things like that. Things that are not man-made necessarily. As if in the future, it's not going to matter what we have built. The only thing that's going to matter is what they do. That's one way of looking at it.
But it's disconcerting. You want them to ask questions about Clinton, you know, and things like that. Something where you can see they really are learning about society, but in fact, if they integrate into this society, there's going to be an overlay of their society. And ours isn't going to matter a whole lot. That's my interpretation. Now I might be awfully wrong about that, but it certainly is my interpretation of it.
Casteel: Well, given the inevitability of it all, you just kind of want to hang on to some kind of shred of hope that it'll be a good thing somehow.
Jacobs: Well, the one hope I have right now is not much of a hope. But the hope that I have right now is the fact that it's still secret. That is to say that as long as it's still secret, they must assume that they are still vulnerable and therefore there's a way that we can affect the program. That's not a whole lot to hang on to, for me. But you know I despair that the scientific community is going to realize the import of what's happening in front of them. I think that even if they do, there's so much water under the bridge and we're so far down the line with this that indeed it may make no difference. Maybe 30 or 40 years ago it might have made a difference, but I'm looking to the future where I just don't see the scientific community getting interested in this subject. It hasn't happened in the past, and failing some sort of sudden event, some sort of sudden revelation, some sort of incredible thing, "Clinton Exposed As Alien Himself," or something like that, I just don't see them becoming interested in it. They've had half a century of the ability to have that interest and have not utilized it.
I don't like what I'm seeing here. I've spent my entire adult life studying this subject intensely. Year after year. I have a professional degree with a Ph.D. in the subject and I teach the only course in the country on the subject, the only regularly scheduled, full credit course in the country, which I've taught for 19 years. I've written three books on the subject and many articles. And I've never really felt the despair I feel now that I think that we've broken it open and we're looking at it and examining it. And it's just not what I expected. It's not what anybody expected. I just wish it was not that way. I just don't like it.
However, this is one of those situations where you can despair of it--you can feel Oh, my God, this is awful--but you have to lead your life as though it's not happening. It's the only way you can get along. It's the way I get along. And I've got two kids, you know. So I look at them and I look at the book and I don't know what kind of future they're going to have. That's true. I really don't. That wasn't just words. This is of great concern to me. I really don't know what kind of future they're going to have.
Casteel: Well, again, I guess the one ray of hope is the possibility that it won't be a cruel form of oppression to live under them.
Jacobs: Well, that certainly might be possible. I don't think it's going to be a cruel form of oppression. I just think it's going to be very different and not to our liking. I don't see an oppressive situation necessarily. I don't think that we're going to be whipped like a slave in a galley on a Viking ship or something like that. But at the same time, I do not see the freedom of movement and action and activity that we have now. Individual freedom and freedom of thought and all that to be the same in the future as it is now.
You've got to remember these beings are telepathic beings. They tap right into your thoughts. I don't want anybody tapping into my thoughts. When I was down in Brazil earlier I gave a paper on what it's like to live in a telepathic society based on abductees' testimony about the society that the aliens live in and the kind of telepathy that the abductees experience. And Sean, you don't want that society. You want to be private. You want to keep your thoughts private. You want to have individual expression, individual thoughts. You want to be able to do what you want to do without anybody knowing. And in their society, that's not necessarily true. It's a different kind of society.
So, is alien integration into Earth's society already a given? Will we lose many of the freedoms we currently enjoy to the superior capabilities of the aliens and the hybrid offspring that are also a part of us?
The old truism "Only Time Will Tell" seems operative here, as it does with so much of the UFO mystery. And in the words of rock singer Tom Petty, "The Waiting Is The Hardest Part."

So anyway, I've become depressed about the whole thing.
